L & J Country Estate- Events Venue- Mendez Cavite
I spent the last week of my year at L & J Country Estate. The last time I visited this villa was around November of 2019 and since that time a lot has improved. Just like us when we had our room make-over during the lockdown, probably it's the same with L & J, the owner and the staff had more time to refine the place, which I fell in love even more.
Due to the
pandemic and the risk of traveling outside the metro we brought our car, also
for the convenience of the entire group, some were still not comfortable
traveling via public commute, even myself. We left Manila at 11am and reached
Mendez around 1pm, a considerably quick drive.
This is a place for all ages and travelers of all forms. What I liked about L & J was its laid back ambiance, you can just stay in your room, hear the birds chirping, or you can swim in the pool, if you're a certified 'Plantita' brace yourself with all the feast for the eye treats as the entire villa was filled with different variety of plants and trees,
You can let your kids play at the play ground, snap your IG worthy photos, spend a relaxing day with nature, set a bonfire under the stars, and visit local restaurants in the area. I also heard they offer a farm to table concept where fresh produce like vegetables can be bought straight to their farm and serve for your meal, they do not use insecticide for their vegetable crops, so it's all safe and healthy, and Lastly, L&J was never crowded even before the pandemic, a refreshing atmosphere guaranteed. If you live in an urban environment this place will surely give a different flavor for your eyes. It is basically an all in one destination.
The owner
told us regarding the extension of their services, this year we should look to
more rooms tailor fit to everyone's budget, more activities or who knows maybe
they can go more than that? I'm pretty much excited to see more from the
L&J soon.
L&J offers pre-order meals, the guests can bring their own food without a corkage fee. But if you want to try other food establishments outside you may want to consider the Greenhouse Cafe, they offer a dainty plant-theme concept, a very instagrammable cafe that set the bar higher for the restaurateurs in Tagaytay (restaurant review in different post).
Another
restaurant you must try is D'B.A.S Bulaluhan, restaurant that offers one of the
best bulalo in town. I heard from the locals that some well-known bulaluhan
restaurants in Tagaytay lost its quality, it gradually changed, and even I
noticed that, so if you're looking for something new, try D'B.A.S Bulaluhan. Aside from their bulalo, they also have other popular Filipino food on their menu like sisig, pinakbet, crispy pata, pansit, fried tawilis, etc.
I would like to thank all the staff of L&J for attending all our needs during our stay especially especially ma'am Lani Diesta for giving us the best holiday staycation of 2020.
I can't wait
to go back!
