Rico's Lechon opened its branch here in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. This lechon Cebu brought its flavorful treat for us Manileños, well it has multiple branches in Manila but I am writing this article to share that it already conquered the business district of BGC. When I posted on my personal fb account many of my friends were surprised that there's Rico's in Highstreet, so why not do a write-up for it to share the good news? Let's try Cebu's best lechon.

Rico's Lechon holds the prominence of being one of the best lechon in Cebu, it's so good that only from word of mouth and great dining experiences the restaurant's popularity is now unstoppable. I tried it years ago in Cebu, since it's just only a 15min drive away from my place why not try it again, this time we didn't have to fly to Cebu, no way I'd miss this.

Rico's Lechon in Taguig is located at Fortstrip BGC, this is the Flagship branch here in Manila and it's noticeably more spacious than the other branches. For the benefit of other readers who have never heard the existence of Lechon, this is a pork dish that we inherit from the Spanish colonial era, a pig roasted on a pit fire, it is often the star of every celebrations in the Philippines for its salivating crackling skin and juicy meat stuffed with assortment of spices.

I'm a foodie that doesn't go for a particular lechon brand, if you serve me lechon I will surely dig in, but I can tell which the good ones are. For Rico's, I know it's one from the royalties, I can taste the quality meat and its superb distinct blend. Their crispy Lechon comes in two flavors; they have the Original and Spicy Lechon. We ordered both flavors, I personally suggest the Original flavor, it's more savory than the spicy. I dined here thrice, and I'd always choose the Original.

Rico's Lechon also serves other food options. Popular Filipino dishes are available here like, Dinuguan, Pansit, Sinigang na hipon, sisig, bicol express, adobong kangkong, grilled pusit, etc. You won't be forced to eat Lechon every time you dine here, they can give you a long list of food to choose from but of course Lechon will always be the star.
I liked the pansit, it's a complete meal itself loaded with meat and vegetables in it, I liked that they went easy on salt (it was just right). And the Dinuguan, it's a local stew dish made out of pork blood, not notably my favorite dish but it's always refreshing to my palate when I eat dinuguan, it's a must try here in Rico's Lechon (sorry I don't have a decent photo of their dinuguan).
